Activities

Downhill skiing

The Ruka slopes are 10 minutes away by car.
Cross-country skiing

A 2-km cross-country ski track next to the Villa is available to the guests. The nearest illuminated cross-country ski track (5 km) is located in Oivanki Outdoor Education Centre, 6 km from the Villa.
Hiking, snowshoeing, mountain biking

The mighty Kouvervaara hills, located nearby, offer wonderful hiking and mountain bike trails through the stunning landscape of Lake Kitkajärvi.

A little further away, approx. 25 km, is the start of the Pieni Karhunkierros hiking trail, which is a great day-trip destination and part of the famous Karhunkierros hiking trail.

Hikers should also consider visiting Riisitunturi. Naturally, a full-scale hike is not the only option, you can also go on a shorter excursion or, for example, enjoy some pole walking.

The Villa has two sets of snowshoes and poles suitable for walking/snowshoeing available for the guests. Right behind the Villa there is a great sliding hill for children and adults, with sleds and slides available at your disposal.
Ice swimming

In winter, there is a hole in the ice available for winter swimming at the Villa shore.
Fishing

The nearby lakes Kuontijärvi, Jauranen and Kangerjärvi provide opportunities for all kinds of fishing. Ask for more information from your hosts!
Boating

The Villa has a rowing boat that can be used for boating on the nearby lake (Lake Jauranen).
Picking forest berries and mushrooms

The terrain of the area is particularly suitable for picking wild berries and mushrooms.
Snowmobiling

The nearest snowmobile trail is approx. 6 km away, from the Villa there is a connection to the maintained route via a water body (Lake Kuontijärvi).
Golf

In summer 2014, a full-scale 18-hole course was completed in the Kuusamo Tropical Spa area.
